ADDRESS <!--[if gte mso 10]> ADDRESS By Mr. Justice Kamal Mansur Alam, Senior Puisne Judge, High Court of Sindh [5-11-1997] We have assembled here today on a happy note to felicitate my Lord Mr. Justice Wajihuddin Ahmed on his assumption of the Office of the Chief Justice of this Court which is the highest judicial office in the Province. My Lord you belong to a respectable and distinguished family of Delhi. Your illustrious father, the late Mr. Justice Wahiduddin Ahmed, was the Chief Justice of the erstwhile High Court of West Pakistan and later a Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Perhaps, following the family tradition you joined the legal profession and made your mark in the profession soon rising to become an outstanding lawyer. In recognition of your legal acumen you were appointed Advocate-General of Sindh in the year 1986 and were elevated to the Bench of this Court in September, 1988. The last nine years that you have adorned the Bench of this Court bear testimony to your sagacity, integrity, deep understanding of law, clear headedness and fair-mindedness. True to the oath of your office, you have administered justice, over the years, evenhandedly without fear or favour, affection or ill-will and I have no hesitation to say that you would adhere to the tradition not only in judicial but also administrative matters. All these qualities have earned for you a reputation of the highest order and endeared you with the Bench, the Bar and the litigants alike. I have no doubt that with the experience and qualities that you possess, you will run the affairs of the Provincial judiciary in the highest traditions of the office you hold. Kindly accept our heartiest felicitation on your well deserved appointment as the Chief Justice of this Court. I pray to Allah that He may in His infinite mercy guide you in the discharge of your onerous responsibilities. ***
