SUBJECT: EXTENSION IN DATE FOR FILING OF RETURNS FOR THE TAX YEAR 2008. Dear Sir, We are facing difficulty in e-filing of income tax returns as IT-1 is not compatible with file created through Income tax assistant 2008 i.e. xml file. It is a tiring practice to feed all the figures on the portal manually which is making the web portal access difficult due to large traffic. In addition to the fact above, there have been holidays in this month leaving lesser days to meet the deadline. Due to above reasons, members of the Rawalpindi/Islamabad Tax Bar Association as well as other bar associations are under immense pressure of finalization of return in such time available, therefore, it is requested to kindly consider the extension in the date of filing of return for the tax year 2008 up to end of January 2009 and oblige.
