LETTER FROM LETTER FROM RAWALPINDI ISLAMABAD TAX BAR ASSOCIATION TO CHAIRMAN FEDERAL BOARD OF REVENUE (Re: Certain issues regarding Sales Tax Returns/With Holding Statements (Income Tax) / E-Enrollment and E-Intermediary (EI)) To The Chairman Federal Board of Revenue. And Member Inland Revenue (Sales Tax). Subject: Certain issues regarding Sales Tax Returns/With Holding Statements (Income Tax) / E-Enrollment and E-Intermediary (EI). Sir, I on my behalf and on behalf of Rawalpindi / Islamabad Tax Bar Association would like to draw your kind attention towards certain problems that many taxpayers are facing now a days, the detail is as under: - 1. CNG Sector (Sales Tax Return):-- That as per Sales Tax law the CNG sector is liable to file their sales tax return on quarterly basis. That the quarterly option has been shifted to monthly option by PRAL on e-portal of FBR due to which this sector is unable to file their .Sales Tax quarterly returns for the 4th quarter (June-2013). A number of e-mails have been sent on e-support of FBR and telephonic complaints have been made to PRAL resolve this problem but they simply replied that "quarterly option is only available for the retailers" instead of making changes according to law on e-portal of FBR. 2. Withholding Agents:-- After Finance Act, 2013 every person registered person for Sales Tax became Withholding Agent, but persons registered for Sales Tax are not aware of this change in law. Furthermore, FBR has also not publicize this change through advertisement on electronic, print, social media and as well as on official website of FBR for taxpayers education and information. 3. E-enrollment:- Taxpayers are facing problems while enrolling themselves with e-portal of FBR. That many applications are still in process and no ID's and passwords have been issued so far. 4. E-Intermediary:- That the e-intermediaries are also facing problems while building their client list. That when an e-intermediary tries to add his " client in list the system is not issuing the activation code. You are therefore requested that kindly look into the matters explained above and necessary direction may please be issued to the concerned authorities so that taxpayers and e-intermediaries be facilitated.
