Mr Mr. Justice Kh. Imtiaz Ahmad, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Kh. Imtiaz Ahmad was born on 30-3-1953 in Pind Dadan Khan; Passed Matriculation Examination from Govern ment High School, Pind Dadan Khan, District Jhelum; Did his Graduation from Gordon College, Rawalpindi. After LLB Degree from Baha-ud-Din Zakriya University, Multan was enrolled as Advocate in the year 1980; Started practice at Pind Dadan Khan, District Jhelum as an Advocate. Appointed as Additional District and Sessions Judge in the year, 1992 and served as such till the year 2000; Promoted as District and Sessions Judge in the year 2000 and served as such till 14-9-2009. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Lahore High Court on 15-9-2009 and as a permanent Judge on 5-9-2011. Attended 2nd Pre-service Training Course for AD&SJ NIPA, Lahore with effect from 31-10-1992 to 21-1-1993; Attended 37th Sharia (Islamic Law) Course, Islamabad with effect from 1-7-1997 to 21-10-1997; Attended CLDP Seminar entitled Adjudication Intellectual Property Dispute in Pakistan with effect from 18-9-2006 to 19-9-2006 from (FJA) Islamabad; Attended Fiscal Management Training Workshop with effect from 20-11-2006 to 22-11-2006 (FJA) Islamabad. Attended Case Flow Management Workshop with effect from 24-11-2006 to 25-11-2006 from (FJA) Islamabad. Attended South Asia Conference on Environmental Justice with effect from 24-3-2012 to 25-3-2012 at Bhurban, Pakistan. Attended the Workshop on Prisoners Vulnerability - Lacking Awareness on 2-11-2013 at Islamabad. Attended International Judicial Conference, 2014 at Islamabad with effect from 18-4-2014 to 19-4-2014. Mr. Justice Kh. Imtiaz Ahmad is known as a liberal, independent and balanced Judge. As a Judge of the High Court, His Lordship has delivered opinions and authored judgments on various issues of domestic and international concern such as enforcement of fundamental rights and in a famous case (Dr. Niaz Ahmad v. D.C.O and others (PLD 2014 Lah. 516), the action of the Government regarding detention was declared illegal and order was set aside and quashed. He took oath as the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court on 17-6-2014.
