MR MR. JUSTICE NASIR-UL-MULK, CHIEF JUSTICE OF PAKISTAN Mr. Justice Nasir-ul -Mulk took oath as the twenty-second Chief Justice of Pakistan, on the 6th of July, 2014. Mr. Justice Nasir-ul- Mulk son of Kamran Khan Sahib was born on the 17th of August, 1950 in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is a Barrister-at-law of the Inner-Temple, London; and was called to the Bar in the year, 1977. He practised as an Advocate in all fields of Law for more than 17 years. He was elected as Secretary General, Peshawar High Court Bar Association in 1981 and was twice elected as President of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association in the years 1990 and 1993. In the year 1993, he was appointed as Advocate-General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was elevated as Judge of the Peshawar High Court on 4-6-1994 and as Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court on 31-5-2004. He has delivered lectures at the Khyber Law College, Peshawar and the Peshawar University as Well as at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Services Academy, Peshawar as a guest speaker. He has served as Chairman, Federal Review Board of Pakistan, since 2009; Member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan; acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan and Judge-in-charge, of the Federal Judicial Academy. He was also nominated to the Syndicate of Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Mr. Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk has participated in various international ,symposiums including the International Judicial Training Conference, Barcelona, Spain, 2007; the World Justice Forum-II Austria Center Vienna, 2009; Colloquium for Judges on the use of the Principles of Equity and Non-Discrimination, 2009 Maldives, under the UN OHCHR, in Geneva; The International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions (IASAJ) 2010 Congress Sydney and Canberra, Australia; Decision Making on Pluralist Normative Ground; On the Governance of Disparate Traditional, Religious and Statutory Laws in Pluralist Societies Conference, held in Berlin, Germany in May, 2011; Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Conference 2012, Singapore. He headed a delegation comprising of Judges and members of the legal fraternity of Pakistan to a visit to the United States of America in 2013.
