MR MR. JUSTICE MUHAMMAD YAWAR ALI, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali was born on 23rd October, 1956. He received his early education at Aitchison College, Lahore and completed his graduation from University of Punjab in 1976. He obtained his degree of Bachelors of Law in 1979 from Leeds University United Kingdom and subsequently became a Barrister and was called to the Bar by Middle Temple in the year 1980. Mr. Justice Yawar Ali entered the legal profession as an advocate of lower courts in the year 1980; he was enrolled as an advocate High Court in the same year, and as an advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1986. He lectured at Punjab University Law College, Lahore as a visiting lecturer during earlier years of his practice. During his practice at the bar Mr. Yawar Ali conducted several cases of public importance before the High Courts and the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and represented various clients including Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Pakistan Railways, National Bank of Pakistan, Muslim Commercial Bank and the Federal Government as their counsel. He also got a book authored in the year 1999 by the title, 'The effect of Revolutions on the Legal Order within States'. He was appointed as Additional Advocate General Punjab and Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan before being elevated to the Bench of the Lahore High Court on 17th February, 2010. Mr Justice Yawar Ali was appointed as Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court on 7th February, 2018.
