MR MR. JUSTICE MUHAMMAD ALI MAZHAR, JUDGE, SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar was born on the 5th of October 1964 in Karachi. After graduation in Commerce, he passed his LL.B. Examination in the year 1990 and enrolled as an Advocate of the subordinate courts. Subsequently, he enrolled as an Advocate of High Court in 1992 and as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2006. He started his law practice in Karachi and over the years, conducted numerous cases in the Civil Courts, High Courts, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Labour Courts, Appellate Tribunals, NIRC, and in the Implementation Tribunal for Newspapers Employees, etc. During his career, he represented clients before various courts and tribunals, and conducted litigation in several areas, from important Constitutional petitions to civil suits dealing in matters of copyright infringement, defamation, arbitration etc. He also remained legal advisor to large public and private organizations and associations. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar was elevated as Judge of the Sindh High Court on the 18th of February 2010. During his tenure as as a Judge of the Sindh High Court, he rendered important and valuable judgements in several categories of cases, including civil suits of different nature, including arbitration laws, admiralty jurisdiction and intellectual property rights; in company matters, in Civil Appeals, High Court Appeals and Banking Appeals and Constitution Petitions including the matters relating to delimitation, vires of law, writs of quo warranto, directions, election matters, ECL, PEMRA, NADRA, Procurement Laws etc; and in service matters and labour matters. Several of his judgements have been reported in law journals. Besides performing judicial functions, Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar also discharged multiple administrative functions at Sindh High Court. Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar has participated in different international training courses and conferences. As Acting Director General, Sindh Judicial Academy, he organized 98 different legal education courses in 18 months in which 3022 trainees were imparted training which included judges, prosecutors, practicing advocates nominated by Bar Associations, law students and investigation officers from Sindh and other provinces. Under the patronage and initiative of Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, the Sindh Judicial Academy for the first time published compendium of Training Manuals and Guidebooks. Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar also inaugurated "Child Court" in District East, Karachi on 24th February 2021 which was established with the cooperation of Group Development of Pakistan. He has also delivered lectures to junior advocates in the Sindh Judicial Academy as well as in different Legal Education Sessions arranged by the Karachi Bar Association Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar was elevated as Judge of the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan on 16th of August 2021.
