An influential collection of European maritime customs, referred to by commercial judges (consuls) in ports of the kingdom of Aragon and other Mediterranean maritime towns. ( The Consolato del Mare was published in Barcelona in the 15th century and soon became one of the leading maritime codes of Europe.
