Device

1. An invention or contrivance; any result of design. 2. A scheme to trick or deceive; a stratagem or artifice, as in the law relating to fraud.

gambling device

Any thing, such as cards, dice, or an electronic or mechanical contrivance, that allows a person to play a game of chance in which money may be won or lost. ( Gambling devices are regulated by law, and the use or possession of a gambling device can be illegal. - Also termed gaming device.
