Enact
vb. 1. To make into law by authoritative act; to pass <the statute was enacted shortly before the announced deadline>. 2. enacting clause
The part of a statute stating the legislative authority by which it is made and when it takes effect. ( In codifications of statutes, enacting clauses generally appear not in the text of the statutes but in historical or legislative notes.
reenactment rule
In statutory construction, the principle that when reenacting a law, the legislature implicitly adopts well-settled judicial or administrative interpretations of the law.
unenacted law
Law that does not have its source in legislation; UNWRITTEN LAW (i).
