Encroach
ub. 1. To enter by gradual steps or stealth into the possessions or rights of another; to trespass or intrude. 2. To gain or intrude unlawfully upon another's lands, property, or authority. - Formerly also spelled incroach.
Encroachment
n. An infringement of another's rights or intrusion on another's property <the court remedied the encroachment by ordering the defendant to cut down the tree limb hanging over the plaintiff's yard>. - Formerly also spelled incroachment. See TRESPASS.
