Expectant

adj. Having a relation to, or being dependent on, a contingency; CONTINGENT.

expectant estate

expectant heir

An heir who has a reversionary or remainder interest in property, or a chance of succeeding to it. - Also termed heir expectant. See REVERSION; REMAINDER. Cf. prospective heir.

A right that depends on the continued existence of present conditions until some future event occurs; a contingent right
