Fabricate

vb. To invent, forge, or devise falsely a To fabricate a story is to create a plausible version of events that is advantageous to the person relating those events. The term is softer than lie. See LIE (1).

fabricated evidence

False or deceitful evidence that is unlawfully created, usu. after the relevant event, in an attempt to avoid liability or conviction. - Also termed fabricated fact.
