Licensing
1. The sale of a license authorizing another to use something (such as computer software) protected by copyright, patent, or trademark. 2. A governmental body's process of issuing a license.

Patents. The act, by two or more license holders, of exchanging licenses so that each may use or benefit from the other's patent.
