Seise

vb. To invest with seisin or establish as a holder in fee simple; to put in possession <he became seised of half a section of farmland near Tulia>.

covenant to stand seised

Hist. A covenant to convey land to a relative. 0 This covenant could not be used to convey land to a stranger; the only consideration that supports the covenant is the relationship by blood or marriage.

disseise

ub. To wrongfully deprive (a person) of the freehold possession of property.

disseisee

A person who is wrongfully deprived of the freehold possession of property. - Also termed disseisitus.

reseiser

Hist. The taking of lands by the monarch in a case in which a general livery or ouster le main was previously misused.

standing seised to uses
