ad hoc

adj. [Latin "for this"] Formed for a particular purpose <the board created an ad hoc committee to discuss funding for the new arena>. - ad hoc, adv. ad hoc arbitration. See ARBITRATION. ad hoc compromis. See COMPROMIS.

ad hoc compromis

An agreement in which countries submit a particular dispute that has arisen between them to an ad hoc or institutionalized arbitral tribunal or to an international court. - Also termed compromis proper; special agreement.

curator ad hoc

A court-appointed curator who manages a single matter or transaction; a special guardian.

quoad hoc

[Latin] As to this; with respect to this; so far as this is concerned. ( A prohibition quoad hoc is a prohibition of certain things among others, such as matters brought in an ecclesiastical court that should have been brought in a temporal court.
