consistory court
Eccles. law. In England, a diocesan court exercising jurisdiction over church property, such as a cemetery, and other ecclesiastical matters. 0 Consistory courts are presided over by the bishop's chancellor or the chancellor's commissary. In some instances, appeals may be taken to the High Court of Justice. Cf BISHOP'S COURT.
