Emolument Clause
The clause of the U.S. Constitution prohibiting titles of nobility and the acceptance of a gift, title, or other benefit from a foreign power. U.S. Const. art. I, ยง 9, cl. 8.
Ubi onus ibi emolumentum
Where the bur den is, there is the profit or advantage.
