An action either by a gestor for the recovery of expenses incurred in looking after another's property or against the gestor for the mismanagement of the person's property. See NEGOTIORUM GE. STOR.

negotiorum gestor

n. [Latin "a manager of affairs"] Roman & civil law. A person who volunteers to render some necessary service to property, or to a business, in the absence of its owner. ( This person has a claim to be compensated by the owner for the trouble taken, and the owner has a claim for any loss that results from the negotiorum gestor's fault. - Sometimes shortened to gestor. See NEGOTIORUM GESTIO.
