Any contractual provision that is not regarded as a fundamental term. - Also termed nonessential term; nonuital term. 3. (pl.) Provisions that define an agreement's scope; conditions or stipulations <terms of sale>. 4. A fixed period of time; esp., the period for which an estate is granted <term for years>.
