patrimony
1. An estate inherited from one's father or other ancestor; legacy or heritage. 2. Civil law. All of a person's assets and liabilities that are capable of monetary valuation-and subject to execution for a creditor's benefit.
separation of patrimony
Civil law. The act of providing creditors of a succession the right to collect against the class of estate property from which the creditors should be paid, by separating certain succession property from property rights belonging to the heirs.
