retraxit

[Latin "he has withdrawn"] A plaintiff's voluntary withdrawal of a lawsuit in court so that the plaintiff forfeits the right of action. ( In modern practice, retraxit is called voluntary dismissal or dismissal with prejudice. See judgment of retraxit under JUDGMENT.
