n. [Law Latin "you are to cause to be sequestered"] Hist. Eccles. law. A process to enforce a judgment against a clergyman in a benefice, by which the bishop was ordered to sequester a church's rents, tithes, or other profits until the debt was paid. sequestrate, ub. See SEQUESTER.
