Employment law. Statements to or about an employee by a coworker or supervi=or, concerning the employee's race, sex, age, ttional origin, or other status, that are either ,jectively or subjectively offensive, but that do At represent harassment or discrimination by ne employer because of (1) their sporadic, unsystematic, and unofficial nature, (2) the circumstances in which they were made, or (3) their not showing any intention to hamper the employee's continued employment. - Also termed stray comments.
