ACT VII OF 1976 ANTIQUITIES ACT, 1975 ACT VII OF 1976 ANTIQUITIES ACT, 1975 An Act to repeal and re‑enact the law relating to the preservation and protection of antiquities 33. Jurisdiction to try offence.‑No Court shall take cognizance of an offence unishable under this Act except upon a complaint in writing made by an officer generally or specially empowered in this behalf by the Federal Government and no Court inferior to that of a Magistrate of the first class shall try any such offence.
