Pre-emptive application of MEAs.---Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, declare any area, which qualifies for the implementation of any biodiversity related multilateral environmental agreement to which Government of Pakistan is signatory, as a protected area with appropriate nomenclature and regulate its management in the prescribed manner.
