ACT XIV OF 2014 ACT XIV OF 2014 BALOCHISTAN WILDLIFE (PROTECTION, PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT) ACT, 2014 An Act to provide protection, preservation, conservation, sustainable and management to the Wildlife, and establishment and management of protection areas in the Province of Balochistan. [Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 28th March, 2014] CHAPTER XI POWERS OF THE GOVERNMENT AND OFFICERS 78. Compounding Offence Cases.---(1) The Government shall, by notification in the official Gazette, empower an officer to-- (a) receive from any person against whom reasonable suspicion exists that he has committed an offence under this Act, a sum of money by way of compensation value for such offence; and (b) release the property, which has been seized as liable to confiscation, on receipt the value thereof, as estimated by an officer authorized in this behalf. (2) On the receipt of compensation or value of property or both as prescribed or estimated by an authorized officer in case it is not prescribed, the suspected person if in custody, shall be discharged and the property; if any, seized shall be released and no further proceedings shall be taken against such person or property. (3) The sum of money accepted as compensation value under clause (a) of subsection (1) in any one case shall in no case exceed the sum of one hundred thousand rupees for single wild animal. (4) The officer authorized in this behalf may give as reward a portion of the amount realized as compensation value and fine under subsection (3) above to the person who helped in detection, registration and/or disposal of offence case. Such reward shall not exceed one-fourth of the amount so realized.
