[Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 28th March, 2014] CHAPTER XIV TRIAL OF OFFENCE CASES 89. Summary Trial.---(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 (Act No.V of 1898) but subject to hereinafter subsection (3), the Court shall summarily try an offence punishable under this Act and impose punishment of imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or fine not exceeding one million rupees. (2) The Court shall conduct the summary trial of an offence under the Act in accordance with the provisions of Chapter XXll of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 (Act No. V of 1898) relating to the summary trials. (3) If the Court is of opinion that the nature of the offence does justify summary trials, it may conduct proceedings in accordance with the provisions of Chapter XX of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 (Act No. V of 1898).
