Penalty for filing a false Complaint.---Whoever gives an application to the court containing information about the commission of domestic violence which he knows or has reason to believe to be false, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to fifty thousand rupees or with both.
