XIII OF 2009) [First published after having received the assent of the Governor of the 1[Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] in the Gazette of 1[Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] (Extraordinary) ,dated the 24th October, 2009] 1.Substituted vide Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No. IV of 2011 AN ACT to provide for the establishment of a University at Peshawar in the name of Abasyn University. Preamble.---WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the establishment of a University at Peshawar in the name of Abasyn University, in the private sector, and for matters ancillary thereto; It is hereby enacted as follows: CHAPTER III OFFICERS OF THE UNIVERSITY 8. Patron.---(1) The Governor of the 6[Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] shall be the Patron of the University. (2) The Patron shall, when present, preside at the Convocation of the University or he may authorize the Chancellor or any other person to perform this function in his absence; (3) Every proposal to confer an honorary degree shall be subject to confirmation by the Patron.
