Section Provisions
CHAPTER V THE ARBITRATION ACT, 1940 (X OF 1940) [11 March, 1940] An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to Arbitration. WHERE it is expedient to consolidate and amend. the law relating to arbitration in Pakistan. It is hereby enacted as follows:‑ CHAPTER V GENERAL 29. Interest on awards. Where and in so far as an award is for the payment of money the Court may in the decree order interest from the date of the decree at such rate as the Court deems reasonable, to be paid on the principal sum as adjusted by the award and confirmed by the decree.
