ACT IX OF 1989 ACT IX OF 1989 BALOCHISTAN WATER AND SANITATION AUTHORITY ACT, 1989 An Act to provide for the establishment of a Water and Sanitation Authority for cities in Balochistan. [Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 27th September, 1989] No.PAB/LEGIS: 111(8)/89, dated 27-9-1989.-- The Balochistan Water and Sanitation Authority Bill, 1989 having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan on 10th July, 1989 and assented to by the Governor of Balochistan, is hereby published as-an Act of the Provincial Assembly. CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement.--(1) This Act may be called the Balochistan Water and Sanitation Authority Act, 1989. (2) It extends to all cities in the Province of Balochistan having a population of one lac or more, and to such other areas which the Government may by notification in the official Gazette notify from time to time. (3) It shall come into force at once, and shall be deemed to have taken effect from 16th April, 1989.
