ACT IX OF 1989 ACT IX OF 1989 BALOCHISTAN WATER AND SANITATION AUTHORITY ACT, 1989 An Act to provide for the establishment of a Water and Sanitation Authority for cities in Balochistan. [Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 27th September, 1989] No.PAB/LEGIS: 111(8)/89, dated 27-9-1989.-- The Balochistan Water and Sanitation Authority Bill, 1989 having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan on 10th July, 1989 and assented to by the Governor of Balochistan, is hereby published as-an Act of the Provincial Assembly. CHAPTER II CONSTITUTION OF THE AUTHORITY 4. Management.--(l) The general direction and administration of the affairs of the Authority and the determination of its general policy shall vest in the Board which may exercise all such powers and functions which may be exercised or done by the Authority in accordance with the provisions of this Act. (2) The Board in discharging its functions shall act on generally accepted principles of development, execution, regulation, operation and maintenance of water supply, sewerage and sanitation schemes to improve the levels of service to persons in the Authority's area with special regard to the improvement of health and hygiene.
