Section Provisions
ANTITERRORISM, ACT, 1997 ANTI-TERRORISM ACT, 1997 The following Anti‑terrorism Act, 1997, passed by the National Assembly and as well as Senate of Pakistan to combat terrorism in the country. Whereas it is expedient to provide for the prevention of terrorism, sectarian violence and for speedy trial of heinous offences and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto; It is hereby enacted as follows:‑ 1. Short title, Extent and Commencement‑‑(a) This act may be called the Anti‑terrorism Act, 1997 (b) It extends to the whole of Pakistan. (c) It shall come into force at once.
