The following Ordinance made by the Governor of Balochistan on 8th July, 2002, is hereby published for general information: 2. Definitions. ---In this Ordinance, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context; (a) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University. (b) "Affiliated College" means an educational institution affiliated to the University, but not maintained or administered by it; (c) "Authority" means any of the Authority of the University specified in this Ordinance; (d) "Chairperson" of a Department means Head of a Teaching Department; (e) "Chancellor" means the Chancellor of the University. (f) "Dean" means the Chairperson of the Board of a Faculty; (g) "Director" means the Director of an Institute; (h) "Faculty" means the Faculty of University. (i) "Government' means Government of Balochistan. (j) "Officer" means an Officer of the University specified in this Ordinance. (k) "Prescribed" means as prescribed by Regulation, rules or Statutes; (l) "Principal" means the head of a College. (m) "Professor Emeritus" and "Honorary Professor" means a retired Professor working in a Faculty in the capacity of an Emeritus of Honorary Professor. (n) "Regulations" "Rules" and "Statutes" means respectively the Regulation, Rules and Statutes made or deemed to have been made under this Ordinance. (o) "Syndicate" means the Syndicate of the University. (p) "Teacher" includes Professor, Associate Professors, Assistant Professor, Lecturers and research staff engaged whole time by the University for teaching degree, honors or post-graduate classes and such other persons as may be recognized to be Teachers by the University. (q) "Teaching Department", means a constituent Institute, College or Department, where teaching or research is being undertaken; (r) "University College/Institute" means a College/Institute maintained and administered by the University; (s) "University" means the Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences Quetta constituted under this Ordinance, and includes University Institute, Department and Colleges and (t) "Vice-Chancellor" means the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
