The following Ordinance made by the Governor of Balochistan on 8th July, 2002, is hereby published for general information: 21. Academic Council.---(1) The Academic Council shall consist of:- (a) the Vice-Chancellor who shall be its Chairman; (b) the Directors of the Institutes. (c) the Principals of the constituent Colleges; (d) the Chairpersons of the Teaching Departments; (e) the University Professor including Professor Emeritus; (f) the Secretary to Government Information Technology Department; (g) four teachers other than Professor to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor; (h) two Principals of Affiliated Colleges (one male and one female) to be nominated by the Secretary to Government Education Department; (i) a representative of the University Grants Commission; (j) two Associate Professors, two Assistant Professors and two Lecturers to be selected from the respective constituency; (k) two Deans from Private Sector Universities to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; (l) the Registrar; (m) the Controller of Examinations, and (n) the University Librarian. (2) The members of the Academic Council other than Ex-officio members shall hold office for two years, and if the office of any such member becomes vacant before the expiry of such terms, such vacancy shall be filled in prescribed manner. (3) The number of members to constitute the quorum for a meeting of the Academic Council shall be one third of the total number of members.
