(1) The Government may from time to time fix or alter the limits of districts, divide the district in Sub-Divisions and appoint a Magistrate of the 1st Class to be known as District Magistrate incharge of each District. (2) The High Court may appoint any Magistrate of the Ist Class to be an Additional District Magistrate and the Government may place any Magistrate of the Ist Class incharge of a Sub-Division and relieve him of the charge as occasion requires.
