BALOCHISTAN JUNIPER UNIVERSITY ORDINANCE, 1996 BALOCHISTAN JUNIPER UNIVERSITY ORDINANCE, 1996 An Ordinance to provide for the establishment of Juniper University [Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 14th December, 1996] No. LEGIS.I‑108/LAW/96, dated 14‑12‑1996. The following Ordinance made by the Governor of Balochistan on 30th November, 1996, is hereby published for general information:‑‑--- 16. Board of Governors.‑‑(1) The general supervision and control of administrative/academic and financial affairs, and the power to lay down the policies of the University shall vest in the Board of Governors. It shall consist of the following members: NOMINATED MEMBERS (a) Vice‑Chancellor; (b) Two Deans to be nominated by the Chancellor in consultation with the Governing Council of the Society; (c) Six persons nominated by the Governing Council of the Society, prominent in their field of specialization; (d) Two prominent educationists to be nominated by the Council of the Society EX OFFICIO MEMBERS (a) One Judge of the Balochistan High Court, to be nominated by the Chief Justice of the High Court; (b) Chairman University Grants Commission; (c) One Vice‑Chancellor of a University in Balochistan to be nominated by the Patron; (d) Secretary Education, Government of Balochistan. (2) a nominated member of the Board shall hold office for term of two years and shall be eligible for renomination on the expiry of his term unless the Board for reasons to be recorded terminates his membership earlier. (3) The office of a nominated member shall become vacant if he resigns or fails to attend three consecutive meetings of the Board without sufficient cause or leave of absence. (4) A casual vacancy in the office of a member of the Board shall be filled by the authority which had nominated the member whose vacancy is to be filled. (5) The Chancellor shall be the Chairman of Board of Governors. (6) No act or proceedings of the Board shall be invalid by reasons of only the existence of a vacancy in or any defect in the constitution of the Board.
