BALOCHISTAN JUNIPER UNIVERSITY ORDINANCE, 1996 BALOCHISTAN JUNIPER UNIVERSITY ORDINANCE, 1996 An Ordinance to provide for the establishment of Juniper University [Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 14th December, 1996] No. LEGIS.I‑108/LAW/96, dated 14‑12‑1996. The following Ordinance made by the Governor of Balochistan on 30th November, 1996, is hereby published for general information:‑‑--- 17. Powers and Functions of the Board of Governors.‑‑(1) The Board of Governors shall exercise powers and perform functions as follows: (a) to formulate or approve the principles, policies and plans governing the activities and operation of the University so as to facilitate research, teaching and other academic work; (b) to propose rules and regulations; (c) to prepare or have prepared and revise from time to time rules and regulations for the efficient and effective operation of the University; (d) to create a component of the University such as faculties/departments/institutes under its jurisdiction and to constitute such standing committees, councils and other administrative or academic /advisory bodies as it deems necessary, and review their work; (e) to consider plans of work and annual budget of the University for the approval of Executive Committee; (f) to call for and consider reports relating to the activities of the University and execution of the plans of work and to direct the Chancellor to furnish information relating to any matter specified by the Board; (g) to create such academic or administrative posts as it may deem necessary and to approve appointments to such parts as it may specify; (h) to constitute committees or sub‑committees as it may deem necessary; (i) to take all such initiatives as it may consider necessary or desirable for the efficient and effective management and functioning of the University; and (j) to lay down its own rules of procedure. (2) The Board may delegate any of its powers to the Chancellor/Vice- Chancellor subject to such conditions as it may deem fit to impose.
