BALOCHISTAN IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE AUTHORITY ACT, 1997 BALOCHISTAN IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE AUTHORITY ACT, 1997 An Act to provide for streamlining the Irrigation and drainage system in the Province of Balochistan [Gazette of Balochistan, Extraordinary, 19th July, 1997] No.PAB/Legis.V(3)/97, dated 19‑7‑1997.‑‑The Balochistan Irrigation and Drainage Authority Bill, 1997 having been passed by the‑ Provincial Assembly on 7th July, 1997 and assented to by the Governor of Balochistan, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly. CHAPTER IX MISCELLANEOUS 35. Transfer of rights and liabilities.‑‑.(1) Upon coming into force of this Act, all assets and liabilities and all rights and obligations of the Irrigation Wing of Provincial Irrigation and Power Department shall stand transferred to the Authority on such terms and conditions particularly as regards to use end disposal of the said assets as may be prescribed by the Government. (2) All contracts made by the Provincial Irrigation and Power Department relating to Irrigation Drainage and Flood Control shall be deemed to be contracts made by the Authority. All decisions and instruments shall be signed for and on behalf of the Authority by the signatures of the Managing Director and any other employee of the Authority duly authorized by the Managing Director in this behalf.
