BANK OF PUNJAB (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1997 BANK OF PUNJAB (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1997 An Act further to amend the Bank of Punjab Act, 1989 [Gazette of Punjab, Extraordinary, 18th June, 1997] No. Legis. 2(7)/97/82, dated 18‑6‑1997.‑‑The Bank of Punjab (Amendment) Bill, 1997, having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on June 14, 1997 and assented to by the Governor of the Punjab on June 16, 1997, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab. 2. Amendment of section 4 of Act XII of 1989.‑‑In the Bank of Punjab Act, 1989 (XII of 1989) in section 4, in subsection (1), for the words "five hundred million rupees divided into fifty million ordinary shares", the words "one thousand million rupees divided into one hundred million ordinary shares" shall be substituted.
