THE AZAD JAMMU AND KASHMIR SHARIAT COURT ACT, 1993 THE AZAD JAMMU AND KASHMIR SHARIAT COURT ACT, 1993 (ACT IX OF 1993) [Dated March 16, 1993] AN ACT to provide for law relating to the constitution of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Shariat Court. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for law relating to the constitution of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Shariat Court, in the manner hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted as follows :‑ 9. Appeal to the Supreme Court.‑--- (1) Any party to any proceedings before the Court under Section 6 aggrieved by the final decision of the Court in such proceedings may, within sixty days of such decision, prefer an appeal to the Supreme Court. (2) The provisions of sub‑section (3) of Section 6 and Sub section (4) to (8) of Section 7 shall apply to and in relation to the Supreme Court, as if reference to the provisions to Court were a reference to the Supreme Court. (3) For the purpose of the exercise of the jurisdiction conferred by this Section, there shall be constituted in the Supreme Court a Bench consisting of two Muslim judges of the Supreme Court to be called the Shariat Appellate Bench, and reference in the preceding clauses to "Supreme Court" shall be construed as a reference to tile Shariat Appellate Bench.
