1THE AZAD JAMMU AND KASHMIR 1THE AZAD JAMMU AND KASHMIR NOTARIES ACT, 1985 (ACT NO. XXVI OF 1985) [Dated November 27, 1985] AN ACT to provide for law relating to profession of Notaries in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for law relating to Profession of Notaries in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the manner hereinafter appearing; it is hereby enacted as follows :‑ 13. Cognizance of offences.‑---- (1) No Court shall take cognizance of any offence committed by a notary in the exercise or purported exercise of his functions under this to save upon complaint in writing made by an officer authorized by the Government by general or special order in this behalf. (2) No magistrate other than a Magistrate of the first class shall try an offence punishable under this Act.
