ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 BALUCHISTAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE, 1979 CHAPTER II‑LOCAL AREAS 7. Local Areas.‑(1) For the purposes of this Ordinance the Local Areas shall be a Union, Tehsil, Town, District, Mohallah, Municipality and a city. (2) Government may, by notification, declare any area urban or rural other than a Cantonment Board as :‑ (a) A Town; (b) A Municipality; (c) A City; (d) A Union; (e) A Tehsil. (3) Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, specify the name by which the Corporation, Municipal Committee, Town Committee, District Council, Tehsil Council and Union shall be known and unless the name is so specified it shall be known as the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committee, Town Committee, District Council, Tehsil Council and Union Council as the case may be, of the place where its office is situated:
