ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 BALUCHISTAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE, 1979 CHAPTER II‑LOCAL AREAS 8. The Government may, by notification‑‑ (a) declare any area, (i) comprising a revenue estate not included within a city, a Municipality or a Cantonment Area to be a Union provided that, that part of the reve nue estate falls outside the city, the Municipality, Town or Cantonment area, may either be declared a Union or may form part of contiguous revenue estate for the purposes of declaring a Union; (ii) not include within the Municipality, Cantonment .Area or city to be a Tehsil and specify names of Unions comprised therein; (iii) within a Municipality to be a Mohallah; (iv) not included within a Cantonment Area and which has developed urban characteristics to be a Town or Municipality and specify the extent and limits such area: Provided that all Municipalities and Town Committees constituted under Act XII of 1975 shall, under this Ordinance, constitute Town Committees, Municipalities, or (v) constituting a Corporation to be a city; (b) extend, curtail or otherwise alter the limits of a local area and declare that any area shall cease to be a Union, Mohallah, Tehsil, Town, Municipality, or a City as the case may be.
