ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 BALUCHISTAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE, 1979 CHAPTER VI‑EXECUTIVE POWERS AND CONDUCT OF BUSINESS 36. Executive Authority and Conduct of business.‑(1) The executive authority of a Local Council shall extend to the doing of all acts necessary for the due discharge of its functions under this Ordinance. (2) Save as otherwise provided, the executive authority of Local Council shall vest in and be exercised by its Chairman. (3) All acts of a Local Council whether executive or not, shall be expressed to be taken in the name of the Local Council and shall be authenticated in the prescribed manner. (4) There shall be a Secretary for each Local Council as under, who shall be incharge of the administration of such Local Council and shall perform such functions as laid down under this Ordinance or as delegated to him by the Council. (a) District Assistant Director, Local Government and Rural Develop- Council ment Department (Ex officio); (b) Tehsil Development Officer, Local Government and Rural Council Development Department (Ex officio); or (c) Union An official of the Provincial Unified Group of Council Functionaries. (d) Town An officer of the Provincial Unified Group of Committee Functionaries. (e) Municipal An Officer of the Provincial Unified Group of Committee Functionaries. (f) Municipal An Officer of the Provincial Unified Group of Corporation Functionaries Provided that the Secretary of Municipal Committee or Municipal Corporation may be designated as Chief Officer.
