ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 ORDINANCE IX OF 1979 BALUCHISTAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE, 1979 CHAPTER XVIII‑MARKET COMMITTEES 164. Membership.‑‑(1) A Market Committee shall consist of the following members‑ (a) two members to be elected by each of the Tehsil Council in a Market area from amongst the growers of the Tehsil ; (b) one member of the Market Committee shall be a member of the Municipal Committee or a member of Tehsil Council, as the case may be, to be elected for the purpose by the Local Council concerned ; (c) one member to be elected by the Municipal Committee, as the Tehsil Council, as the case may be, out of the holders of licences issued under section 165 ; and (d) one member to be elected by the Municipal Committee, or the Tehsil Council, as the case may be, out of persons carrying out the occupation of weights and measures, surveyors of warehousemen. (2) A Market Committee shall elect a Chairman by majority of votes. (3) The term of office of a Market Committee shall be two years from the date of its first meeting. (4) A member of the Market Committee may be removed in the prescribed manner: Provided that a member of a Local Council removed under section 30 shall also be deemed to have been removed from the Market Committee of which he is a member.
