Local rates.‑(I) All lands assessable to rent or land revenue shall be subject to the payment of a rate to be known as the local rate. The local rate in each District shall bear such proportion to the rent or land revenue in the District as the Government may, by notification, from time to time, fix and it shall be collected in the prescribed manner alongwith the rent or land revenue by the village officials responsible for its collection and the proceeds thereof shall be credited to the Local fund of the District Council. (2) A.11 taxes etc. recoverable under repealed laws will continue to be recovered.
