Contract had to be strictly and literally construed without deviating from or implying in a contract something inconsistent with its express terms
Stipulation not expressed in a contract could not be implied
While construing a contract the words were to be taken in their literal, plain and ordinary meaning
Intent had to be gathered from the document as a whole and all parts of the deed (contract) must be examined and read together.
Objects and distinction between the two.
Court cannot read into a contract a term which does not exist there.
