Can an oral agreement to sell land be enforced in court? What is the standard of proof required by the courts, and who bears the burden?

Yes, an oral agreement is enforceable, but courts view it with great suspicion. The standard of proof is extremely high. The plaintiff must produce clear, consistent, and strong evidence showing the place, date, time, and witnesses of the oral transaction. See 2021 SCMR 654.
